The Next Harvest - As some of you may know, Nancy and I are working on a new wine book project. The book is going to be about the Vineyards and Wineries of New England. We have been in contact with most of the New England wineries and have already visited around 36 wineries while working on this project. My wife and I are not wine experts. We are just two people that enjoy drinking wine and visiting New England wineries, which is what we’ve found most visitors to local wineries to be as well. We have no formal wine training, just the experience of visiting many New England (and New York) wineries and tasting hundreds of New England wines.

Because we could not find a book to help us explore this interest in New England wines, we decided to work with the New England Wineries and write one. The reason behind all of our hard work is to pass along all of the grand adventures we have had with New England and its wines. We have been collecting information since June 2007 and are currently putting all that information together. We have information on over 75 New England wineries and vineyards, some not even open yet. We are trying very hard to keep the book as accurate as possible while at the same time keeping the guidebook fun and easy to understand. We have had positive feedback from all of the wineries, as well as from customers we have come in contact with at the wineries. We hope to hear from you! The book is scheduled for a late Summer 2008 release.

Phil's Van - Someday when you are driving around Haverhill, Massachusetts or maybe attending a Pear Tree Publishing book signing event, you may see a strange little van lurking around. The van is a great new marking tool owned by my friend Phil. Pear Tree Publishing is the first to help him test out the concept! So far the results have been amazing! Everywhere we go we turn heads and make people smile. Phil plans on using the van to assist local businesses with bringing attention to their events. Things like grand openings or craft fairs are perfect examples. Small businesses that have always wanted to have some kind of hype surrounding their event but could not afford it can breathe a sigh of relief because the van comes at an affordable price. The van can be decorated with a variety of magnets and banners. Phil is still in the developmental stages of his marketing and publicity business so stay tuned, but keep your eyes open, that little van in your rear view mirror just may contain a new shipment of Pear Tree Publishing books…
